Most people usually choose the first row on rollercoasters, thinking that this is where they will experience the greatest G-forces and effects. Contrary to appearances, it is worth taking a seat in the far rows at many attractions, and even the last. In this entry I will present some of the most interesting attractions in Energylandia and, based on them, I will describe the experiences in the first and last row. So which carriage should you choose? First or last?

Hyperion
Hyperion is one of those attractions where no matter where you sit, the experience will be extreme. In the first 2-3 rows, when you reach the top of the first drop, you will hang almost vertically down for a moment before the coaster starts moving at full speed. On the other hand, people in the last rows will not feel this waiting at all. From their perspective, they will start with full momentum practically from the very top.

What’s more, in the last rows it feels like the queue is moving faster and the g-forces are a bit stronger. I will also add that it can usually shake a bit in the last rows. The same feeling usually accompanies people riding in the side seats, regardless of the row they are occupied.

Bottom line is, if you want unobstructed views, sit in the front row. If you want the fastest speeds, sit in the last row.

Zadra
On Zadra the sensations are very similar to those on Hyperion. In the first carriage we have great views of the track, as well as momentarily hanging completely vertically after crossing the top of the first drop.

In the last row the descent will be more dynamic, and we will feel all the effects a bit stronger and faster.

Abyssus
On rollercoasters without a classic chain lift, the experience is a bit different. On the first and second shot, as well as for most of the Abyssus ride, there is not much difference whether we sit in the first or last row.

The situation changes on inversions and the drop from the highest point of Abyssus. Here, sensations identical to Hyperion and Zadra appear. In the first carriage, we will experience the inversion more smoothly and at the same time a bit calmer. In the last carriage, we will be pulled as if by the force of momentum, which is why we will feel the speed and overloads more strongly. The first carriage should also be chosen by all those who care about great views, especially when going down the highest drop.

Mayan
Mayan is the largest inverted rollercoaster in Poland with a classic lift and the first drop from the highest peak. For this reason on Mayan it would seem that the weakest sensations would be in the first row and the strongest in the last.

Of course, this is true, but since the ride on the Mayan cable car is not smooth, it simply jerks and shakes a lot in the further rows. The ride in the last carriage is not the most pleasant. It is therefore worth choosing one of the first rows, and only when we are looking for more experiences, take a ride in the last one.

RMF Dragon
Dragon is the second inverted coaster in Energylandia, and in Poland. The ride is very smooth and comfortable, so it is worth applying the rule in this case that if we care about the views, we choose the first row, and for higher speeds, the last row.

In the first carriage, the ride over the first peak is relatively longer and the speed is gained gradually, while in the last carriage you feel a strong pull downwards just before reaching the peak.

My Formula
On Formula the feeling is almost identical to that on Abyssus. We don’t have a classic lift here, but only a single launch from an electromagnetic drive. Thanks to this, in the first row we will experience the best views and smooth ride, and in the last row slightly greater overloads and higher speed on inversions.

The formula has a relatively short track, low height and average speed, so the difference in feeling between the first and last car is small.

Energuś, Frida Smiley Jelly Beans
These two small rollercoasters for the youngest ones do not reach breakneck speeds nor are they characterized by great height. Moreover, there is no point looking for inversions or intense experiences there. Regardless, they are operated by the same principles as any other rollercoaster with a classic lift to the highest point.

In the first carriage the speed and sensations will be slightly weaker than in the last one. This is especially noticeable on Energus, when the cable car leaves the first exit. On Frida, in my opinion, the differences are less noticeable.

Boomerang, Ekipa Light Explorers
Both Boomerang and Light Explorers are two similar rollercoasters in which the track is blind. First we go forward to the end, and then backward to the station.

In both cases it is worth taking the last carriages, because we will be pulled to a higher altitude and we will feel the first descent longer and stronger. On the return backwards the sensations are definitely weaker, because the return speed is much lower.

Speed
Speed is the largest and fastest water roller coaster in the world. We travel in boats that are pulled up by a lift to the 50-meter peak. Then we go down towards the water at a speed of about 100 km/h. After crossing the water, we go through a sequence of several turns and elevations, to finally brake in the water and get splashed a lot.

In my opinion, there are no major differences in the experiences. The boats are short, and the lack of inversions and other intense effects means that sitting in the first or last row won’t make any difference. Another issue is splashing. And here the difference is already there. But you can read about which row to take to get less splashed in the entry: Where to sit on water attractions? Where is there less splashing?
