Hyperion is a steel rollercoaster from the hyper coaster category with a classic chain lift. It was manufactured by the Swiss company Intamin and put into service in Energylandia on July 14, 2018. This makes Hyperion the highest and fastest roller coaster in Energylandia, and even in all of Poland!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The height from the ground to the highest peak is 77 meters, but the drop is 82 meters, because the track is led through a tunnel. During this drop, the coaster reaches a dizzying speed of 142 km\/h. It is worth adding that Hyperion is the second highest and second fastest roller coaster in Europe. Globally, Hyperion is the tenth fastest and eighth highest roller coaster.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyperion ride description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After leaving the station, the train immediately begins a 35-second journey up the main hill, which is 77 metres high. From the summit, Hyperion descends 82 meters and at an 85-degree angle.<\/strong> At the end of the descent there is a tunnel, at the end of which a photo of us is taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then the train passes over a hill about 45 meters high, where we experience strong negative overloads<\/strong> (ejector airtime). After the ascent, we make a U-turn on the only inversion Twist and Dive. Next, the Hyperion coaster passes through a low elevation with a strong left tilt and another elevation with negative G-force. Then, Hyperion overcomes the second highest elevation with an G-force of 0 g, after which it makes a U-turn, a low elevation and an elevation with a strong right tilt. At the end of the ride, the coaster turns to the right, performs a slalom located low above the ground and another low elevation. The Hyperion ride ends with a final elevation with strong negative G-forces and the effect of splashing water (on hot days). On the braking section, we experience strong braking, after which the coaster, turning to the right, returns to the station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My personal experiences during the ride on the Hyperion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I rank Hyperion second in TOP 10 best attractions in Energylandia<\/a><\/strong>. Only because it is less intense than Zadra. On Zadra we do not have time to catch our breath, everything happens very quickly there. On Hyperion, on the other hand, the overload and speed are much greater, but also longer. Personally, I love Hyperion for its very strong negative G-forces. The effect of falling out of the chair is probably the greatest of all the attractions in the park.<\/strong> This is especially noticeable on the descent, on the second ascent and the inversion (turn). However, after the turn the effects are a bit weaker, but not so weak that they get boring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The effect of falling out of the seat is intensified by modest safety features. On the Hyperion, we are secured only by a lap bar (a thigh lock). The upper body is completely free. If we also sit on one of the two middle seats, our legs will hang freely. Believe me, then the negative g-forces are cosmic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recommend sitting in the first row if you want to have the ride with the best view. The tilt of the cable car over the top and the look into the abyss makes a stunning impression. It’s a drop of 80 meters! In my opinion, the ride is felt the least on the side seats, because you can rest your feet on the floor. In the back rows, on the other hand, you can feel the momentum, how the cable car is being pulled, but the downside is the vibrations that spoil the comfort of the ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How long is the wait for Hyperion?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hyperion is an attraction that enjoys huge popularity.<\/strong> In the season, queues tend to form there, even for 60 minutes. However, in the off-season, there shouldn’t be any longer queues. After 10 minutes at most, we should be able to get in, and I’ve even managed to get into Hyperion straight away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are going to Energylandia during the holidays and you want to see Hyperion, do not go there either after it opens or before it closes.<\/strong> That’s when the queues are usually the biggest. Go back to Hyperion around midday, so between 2pm and 4pm is the best time. That’s when you can expect the shortest wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entrance to Hyperion is immediately to the right of the courtyard. We pass through the capital letter O from the inscription Hyperion.<\/strong> After entering the building, we must use the safety deposit boxes where we put all our personal items. Then we go through metal detectors and go up the stairs to the stairwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In high season we usually have to go up 4 flights of stairs and then down 4 flights of stairs<\/strong>, until we reach the entrance boxes to the attraction. Outside the season and on days when there are few people in the park, the upper floors of the staircase are closed and it is enough to go up to the second floor. This shortens the time it takes to get to the attraction, and at the same time reduces our fatigue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
